Tabling of the 2020-2021 annual management report in the National Assembly

September 28, 2021 – This afternoon, the annual management report of the Tribunal administratif du logement was tabled in the National Assembly.

“The 2020-2021 annual management report shows highly favourable results, considering the many obstacles that the Tribunal had to overcome due to the COVID-19 public health crisis. Although the Tribunal was not the only organization to go through that difficult period, we were able to address every challenge that came our way,” said Mtre. Patrick Simard, the Chair of the Tribunal administratif du logement.

In 2020-2021, the average wait time to obtain a first hearing was always shorter than the targets set in the strategic plan. The wait time for priority civil cases even decreased, going from 9.1 months to 7.9 months. The average wait time to obtain a first hearing for all categories of cases was 5.1 months.

In addition, the online services of the Tribunal were used more than ever before. No fewer than 37 458 of the 51 748 applications made, that is, over 72%, were sent via the Web portal. The volume of emails processed also climbed by 142.8% in 2020-2021, going from 48 292 in 2019-2020 to 117 247 in 2020-2021. The call centre was also in demand. Information officers answered 285 309 calls in 2020-2021, compared with 154 267 calls in 2019-2020.
