Launch of two guides for lessees in private seniors’ residences.

The Minister Responsible for Seniors and Informal Caregivers, Marguerite Blais, and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Andrée Laforest, have launched two simple and accessible guides aimed at informing current and future lessees in private seniors’ residences (PSRs) about their rights and obligations under the lease.

The guides, entitled:

Signing a lease in a private seniors’ residence – A simple and practical guide to inform future lessees about their rights and obligations

and

Being a lessee in a private seniors’ residence – A simple and practical guide to inform lessees about their rights and obligations

were produced by the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), in collaboration with the Régie du logement and non-governmental partners who are well acquainted with the concerns of seniors.

The guides are available at complaint assistance and support centres throughout Québec. In addition, electronic versions are available on the websites of the MSSS and the Régie du logement.
